Local Partners

Take the Church Outside!
We believe that God is ACTIVE in our world. One way God brings hope, healing, and transformation is through the ministry of believers. We encourage everyone to develop and nurture their own ministry, because everyone has something to give for the good of all. While service agencies will always need funding, they first require people who know and care about the needs they exist to serve.
Mission Volunteer Partners (MVPs)
Community Protestant Church will contribute $10 per volunteer hour reported by members and active visitors to local mission partners approved by the Mission Board within the limits it establishes. We have established relationships with several local agencies that regularly depend upon volunteer labor, which are PRE-APPROVED to receive funds from this program. These include:
- Feed My Starving Children – Libertyville
- Bernie’s Book Bank – Lake Bluff
- Reach Rescue, Inc – Mundelein
- P.A.D.S. Lake County – Waukegan and other sites
- and several others as well as some under consideration
How You Can Help – It’s easy!
- First, think about where God is calling you to serve. It could be something you’ve always cared about or a new discovery.
- Second, make sure it’s an approved Mission Partner. If it’s not one of the pre-approved agencies above or printed on the reporting slip, email the Mission Board and tell them where you’d like to volunteer. They will ask follow-up questions and offer guidance. The Mission Board reserves the right to approve or deny a Mission Volunteer Partner for any reason.
- Third, get out there! You can volunteer on your own or with a group. There is a regular group from CPC that volunteers at FMSC in Libertyville on Friday afternoons, for instance.
- Fourth, report your hours. You can pick up blank Mission Partnership Reports (the pink slips) at the church or download it here and print one yourself. When you’ve completed the form, return it in the offering plate during Sunday worship or otherwise get it to the church office.
We want to hear your stories about how God is moving through your volunteer ministry! If you’ve got something good to share, make a note on the back of your report and the Mission Board will be in contact to find out more.
