Inclusive Playground Dedicated at Kracklauer Park
As 2023 drew to a close, CPC held a special offering to assist with the construction of an All-Inclusive Accessible Playground at Kracklauer Park. A few short months after that, the Mundelein Park and Recreation District announced that it had secured the funds to complete the project through a combination of individual gifts, collections like ours, corporate contributions, and a grant from the State of Illinois. Construction began in the fall of 2024 and the playground was completed and opened in the early summer of this year.
Pastor Alex was invited to attend the ribbon cutting celebration and the reveal of the donor wall, which features Community Protestant Church and our logo along with others who helped raise the funds to bring this dream into a reality. “It reflects the priority our congregation places on welcoming those with different abilities, experiences, and needs. It’s really a blessing to be closely associated with a project that expresses care for all God’s children.”
