About Us
Who We Are
We are followers of Jesus, who has called us together from diverse backgrounds to the glory of God. We’ve got deep roots in Mundelein and have been blessed to be ministering to people in this community since 1889. In our church covenant, we promise “we will be open and accepting to all who come, slow to take offense, and always ready for forgiveness and reconciliation.”
Our Story
Our history extends back before Mundelein was ‘Mundelein.’ On March 13, 1889 sixteen residents met at the new school building for the purpose of organizing the “Rockefeller Church Association,” which would meet in the school building at the corner of Lake and Maple (where the Thornton’s gas station stands today) for 60 years. Following World War II and the great suburban migration, a new church building was constructed at the corner of Hawley and Prairie, where we have served God and our community ever since.
