Thanksgiving Worship Services 2019
Two Thanksgiving Services Offered Again This Month
The Diaconate Board of Community Protestant Church invites you to join in two special services this year to give thanks for another year of God’s abundant blessings.
First, with people of faith from communities all over Lake County as we give thanks to God together at the Eleventh Annual Interfaith Thanksgiving Celebration. The service is held at the Advocate Condell Centre Club in Libertyville on Sunday, November 24th at 4pm.
During this celebration, prayers, sacred readings, and music from various religions will be offered. The theme of this year’s service is “Wellness.”
Participants are encouraged to bring new or gently used children’s books (up to 6th Grade reading level) to be donated to Bernie’s Book Bank, which collects, processes, and distributes children’s books to increase book ownership among at-risk children.
CPC members who have participated in the past have been enthusiastic about this service and grateful for the opportunity to join in giving thanks with those of different faiths.
Second, an Ecumenical Thanksgiving worship service will be held at 7pm on Wednesday, November 27th at Community Protestant Church. Our guest preacher will be Rev. Mark Sundberg, the Interim Pastor of Saint Andrew Lutheran Church.
We hope that you will join us for either or both of these special opportunities to thank God for all of our blessings!
